Experience:
Must have eight years of engineering experience unless you graduated
from an engineering curriculum accredited by EAC/ABET (Engineering Accreditation
Commission of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology), in
which case you need only four years of experience.
One year of experience will be given for a Masters Degree in Engineering or two years of experience will be given for a Doctors Degree in Engineering.
Examination:
You must pass the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination and one of
the PE Examinations provided by the NCEES (National Council of Examiners
for Engineering and Surveying). To learn more about the FE and PE Examinations
and what they contain, go to the Home Page of the NCEES
(http://www.NCEES.org).
You may order a book of sample questions from NCEES.
If you have earned a Ph.D. from an Engineering School with an EAC/ABET accredited Engineering Bachelors program, and that Ph.D. required a qualifying exam, the FE Exam is waived.
If you have an engineering baccalaureate degree and 20 years of experience you are exempt from taking the FE Exam.
If you ARE licensed somewhere other than Delaware. (Licensing by Comity.)

(4) Mail to the DAPE office, Suite 208, Plaza 273, 56 W. Main St., Christiana, DE 19702, one copy of the completed and notarized Application Form. Please keep a copy for yourself. All applications must be accompanied by a check for the application fee ($75) in accordance with the DAPE Fee Schedule. The Application Form must also be accompanied by the Ethics and Regulations Questionnaire, which you should fill out based on your reading of the Registration Law and the Code codethic.htm of Ethics.

Your application will be carefully investigated and evaluated, and you will be advised of the results as soon as possible.
